Once again, I have to entitle today's blog as "Tombstoneless Tuesday" because a tombstone does not exist for my uncle who died by accidental drowning in the Merrimack River, Lawrence, Massachusetts. But this is the paranoid psychology, amusingly described in Iraj Pezeshkzad's novel "My Uncle Napoleon", that has been sustained in Iran long after the demise of the British Empire. My Uncle Napoleon, by Iraj Pezeshkhzad was translated in 2006 by Dick Davis, and published by modern library, so should be pretty widely available. She also wrote the new introduction to the Modern Library Classics edition of Tolstoy's Hadji Murad, as well as the introduction to Iraj Pezeshkzad's My Uncle Napoleon, published by Modern Library (April 2006).
